Tomorrow would have been the late Metallica bassist, Cliff Burton’s 60th birthday. Since 2018, his hometown in Alameda County, California declared February 10th as “Cliff Burton Day”. For the past couple years, friends and artists have come together with a commemorative concert/live stream to honor Burton. This year’s live stream will go live at 7 p.m. PT which will make it 10pm here on YouTube . It will feature a host of metal megastars and Metallica associates who will share their memories of Burton including Exodus guitarist Gary Holt, Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin, Big Mick, Metal Joe, Dan Riley, Brian Lew, Dean Delray, Brian Slagel, and Connie Burton, Burton’s sister. Also, Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante will be there and has created merchandise for “Cliff Burton Day” with all the proceeds going towards ‘The Cliff Burton Music Scholarship Fund.’
